IBM is launching Digital Asset Haven by late 2025. This enterprise platform offers secure crypto custody and payment services globally.

IBM has announced the launch of its enterprise crypto services platform. The new platform is called Digital Asset Haven. For the overall sake, it is scheduled to live by the end of 2025. The system will provide custody and payment services to institutional clients. Specifically, major banks are the target market. Furthermore, it offers support for integration with more than 40 blockchains. Therefore, this further pushes IBM into the Web3 space.

Digital Asset Haven Empowers Institutional Crypto Participation

The development of the platform was carried out hand in glove with Dfns. Dfns is a leading digital wallet infrastructure provider. Digital Asset Haven integrates IBM’s complete stack security and infrastructure now. In addition, it makes use of Dfns’ custody and management capabilities. Dfns has already developed 15 million wallets for more than 250 clients. As a result, the joint effort complies with and has high security standards.

As more and more the use of stablecoins increases, institutions must adapt. The digital asset space is also a critical opportunity right now. Financial institutions need to modernize their product portfolio effectively. IBM Digital Asset Haven makes it easy for this new participation. It gives the security and technical assurance of IBM now. This is absolutely important for mission-critical operations.

The platform is designed as a holistic solution on the whole. It comes with industry-leading built-in security features. Specifically, it provides native support for important residency controls. Further, it guarantees that programmable multi-party approvals are possible. Policy-driven governance frameworks also create structure. Therefore, the clients receive resilience and data governance.

Tom McPherson, General Manager, IBM Z and LinuxONE, gave comments. He said clients can get into the digital assets space easily. This is supported by IBM’s fabled security and dependability. This new united platform offers the resilience that clients need. It gives the government and enterprises power to build financial services.

IBM’s Crypto Platform Features MPC, HSM, and Quantum-Safe Security

The new platform overcomes major shortcomings of a market. It is geared towards getting up to speed and competing with the standards of traditional financial rails now. Clarisse Hagège, CEO of Dfns, was able to confirm this goal. She said the infrastructure must have high standards regarding integration. Together with IBM, they created a platform beyond custody. It orchestrates the entire digital asset ecosystem instead.

The platform is focusing on strong security and key management now. It is built on the infrastructure of IBM when it comes to security operations. This includes Multi-Party Computation (MPC) support quite easily. Moreover, HSM-based signing uses the IBM Crypto Express 8S HSMs. These are embedded in IBM Z and LinuxONE systems. In addition, IBM Offline Signing Orchestrator (OSO) is integrated.

IBM OSO supports the cold storages effective support for secure operations. These are becoming increasingly required by global regulatory bodies. Combined with the guidance of quantum-safe cryptography, the system is robust. It provides regulated institutions with flexibility now. They can easily generate, rotate and store cryptographic keys. This supports compliance with jurisdictional mandates closely.

Transaction Lifecycle Management is a fundamental feature too. It supports the blockchain transaction process totally. This varies from automation to routing to monitoring. It also includes settlement on the 40 interconnected blockchains. Governance and Entitlement Management are brought together. This ensures policy enforcement and approvals are consistent.

The service will be available as SaaS in the beginning. Hybrid SaaS will follow in Q4 2025. An on-premises deployment option is scheduled for Q2 2026, further down the line. This gives required deployment flexibility for large clients. Ultimately, this platform makes it possible for global adoption.
